SlapBook

September 4th, 2006 by steveblue

Wow! Now I can slap my Macbook Pro to change Desktops in VirtueDesktops!

Apple just announced Spaces, a Desktop Switcher for OS X 10.5 Leopard at WWDC. This is kinda old news for all us Mac Geeks, because we have been using VirtueDesktops for quite a while.

VirtueDesktops is a freeware Desktop Switcher solution. It allows me to make four desktops out of one monitor. Usually, a Keyboard Shortcut or Menu is used to switch between monitors. But SlapBook turns any MacBook or MacBookPro into a slap switcher for VirtueDesktops. Just lightly slap either side of your screen and SlapBook switches the desktop!

You’ll need both VirtueDesktops and SlapBook to make this work.

Comparing to what I’ve read about this before, it sounds absolutely impressing. I’m an old internet user, and have read a lot about this kind of stuff, but what I read here today is absolutely different.
