Google Search A Tab Away

The easiest method for Google Search in Safari or Firefox is to Press Tab when the Address Bar is Highlighted. This will highlight the Search Tab and you may begin typing your Search Query. Press Return to Search.

Press Tab to Search Google

Now why doesn’t Apple, Inc. ever include Tab for Buttons? I find it so annoying not to be able to Tab through buttons on a website or in a Message Box. Hear my plea Apple!

Agree with your point about tabing onto buttons Steve. Bugs me no end as well, especially as someone who works with Windows machines at work all day.

Cheers

Try System Preferences > Keyboard and Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts > Full Keyboard access: select “All Controls” and you can tab between buttons.

You can also use Cmd-Option-F to get to the Google Search Box. If you want to change it, it’s under the Edit>Find menu. It’s called, “Google Search…” (ellipses are typed with Cmd-; BTW)

I’m only a newbie Mac owner but in Firefox 3 CMD K gets me right to the search box. Hope that helps
